5.3 Increment
The product increment is the most important scrum artefact. The development team produces potentially shippable product increment in each sprint. This product increment must align to the development team’s Definition of Done and this increment must be acceptable by the product owner.
The product increment is a piece of working software that creates understanding and transparency to all the stakeholders. The team may also create other optional additional artefacts like burn down charts and task boards.
Definition of Done
The Definition of Done ensures that everyone on the team knows exactly what is expected of everything the team delivers. It ensures transparency and quality fit for the purpose of the product and organization. Each development team has its own Definition of Done or consistent acceptance criteria across all user stories. A Definition of Done drives the quality of work and is used to assess whether a user story has been completed.
